The following are prominent figures you may have observed in the widely acclaimed Disney+ program, The Mandalorian. A number of these individuals are also featured in The Book of Boba Fett, including the titular character, the Mandalorian. The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett share common narratives and a cast of notable performers.

Din Djarin, also known as the Mandalorian, serves as the principal protagonist in the widely acclaimed Disney+ series, the Mandalorian. As a bounty hunter, he has garnered a number of valuable allies. His relationship with the child, Grogu, is particularly noteworthy, as Din Djarin endeavors to reunite the youngling with its own kind, the Jedi.

Throughout his journey, he encounters numerous challenges and adversaries, including imperial remnants who seek to subject the child to heinous experiments. Despite these obstacles, Din Djarin remains steadfast in his mission to protect the child, vanquishing any and all who would seek to harm it. Although not born into the Mandalorian creed, Din Djarin was taken in and raised as one of their own. However, due to having removed his helmet on one occasion, he is considered an outcaste. Later, he assists Bo-Katan Kryze in reuniting the scattered Mandalorians throughout the galaxy and reclaiming the planet of Mandalore.

Grogu, the infant, plays a pivotal role in the Mandalorian series. Din Djarin encounters Grogu while pursuing a bounty on behalf of an imperial client. Another bounty hunter droid, IG-11, is also in pursuit of the same asset and has been instructed to terminate it. However, Din Djarin chooses to safeguard the child and eliminates the droid. He delivers the child to the client but becomes emotionally attached to it and apprehends that the client’s intentions may be detrimental to the child’s well-being. Consequently, he rescues the child from the safehouse, despite Greef Karga’s attempts to prevent him. The child is adored by all, and Din Djarin endeavors to reunite it with its kind. Luke Skywalker trains the child in the art of the Force and other defensive techniques. Subsequently, Grogu returns to the Mandalorian, who adopts it as his own and endeavors to raise it as a Mandalorian. Over time, the child’s Force sensitivity and proficiency grow, and it aids the Mandalorian on numerous occasions through the use of the Force. Following the Mandalorian’s adoption of the child, it came to be known as Din Grogu.

Karga, formerly an expeditor for the bounty hunters' guild, opposes the Mandalorian’s efforts to retrieve the asset, the child Grogu, from the imperial client in Nevarro, citing the guild’s regulations. In the ensuing altercation, Karga sustains a gunshot wound, but his beskar plate, located in the inner pocket of his jacket, saves him from certain death. Subsequently, Karga reaches out to the Mandalorian, seeking his assistance in combating the imperial forces that have been expanding their presence on Nevarro. Together, they eliminate the imperial client, who was seeking to acquire Grogu, only to discover that Moff Gideon was the mastermind behind the entire operation. Throughout the series, one will hear the phrase “This is the way” repeatedly uttered by the Armorer, a wise and skilled female Mandalorian who provides exceptional leadership to her group. Portrayed by Emily Swallow, the Armorer is responsible for forging weapons and armor for her Mandalorian brethren using the precious metal Beskar. Her weapons of choice are the gravity hammer and tong, which she employs both in the creation of Beskar armor and in combat. The Armorer is a staunch adherent to Mandalorian tradition and plays a pivotal role in maintaining the unity and cohesion of her people. It is possible that she alone possesses the knowledge of how to forge Beskar armor in the ancient Mandalorian manner, as no one else is permitted to handle the forge equipment. Additionally, the Armorer is instrumental in preserving the Mandalorian culture.

Timothy Olyphant is Cobb Vanth aka the Marshal

Timothy Olyphant portrays the character of Cobb Vanth, also known as the Marshal, in the popular television series, The Mandalorian. Although their initial encounter was not amicable, the two eventually develop a friendship and work together to defeat the formidable Krayt dragon. As the Marshal of Mos Pelgo, which was later renamed Freetown by its inhabitants, Vanth had obtained Boba Fett’s armor from the Jawas. Upon learning of another individual possessing similar armor in Mos Pelgo, the Mandalorian becomes incensed upon discovering that Vanth was not a Mandalorian and demands that he surrender the armor. However, their animosity is set aside when a Krayt dragon threatens the town, and Vanth agrees to relinquish the beskar suit in exchange for the Mandalorian’s assistance in protecting the town. Despite their newfound camaraderie, Vanth’s vulnerability is exposed after surrendering the beskar armor, and he is ultimately killed by the assassin Cad Bane in the Book of Boba Fett.

Ahsoka Tano is a Jedi warrior featured in the Mandalorian series. Din Djarin, also known as the Mandalorian, was tasked with a mission to reunite a child named Grogu with his own kind. During his quest, he discovered the existence of Ahsoka Tano, who could be found on the planet Corvus. The Mandalorian sought her out to train the child Grogu. Ahsoka Tano redirected him to another individual and advised him to take the child to a mountain where he could make contact with other Jedi.

In the course of their journey, the Mandalorian assisted Ahsoka Tano in liberating the town of Calodan from the oppressive rule of a cruel magistrate named Morgan Elsbeth. Ahsoka Tano sought information about Grand Admiral Thrawn from Elsbeth, who was initially hesitant to divulge any details. However, Elsbeth ultimately met her demise in a confrontation with Ahsoka Tano within the confines of her palace walls.

Amy Sedaris is Peli Motto

Peli Motto is a significant character and a valuable ally to the Mandalorian. Portrayed by Amy Sedaris in the Mandalorian, she is the proprietor of hangar 3-5 in Mos Eisley. With the assistance of her three pit droids, she exhibits exceptional proficiency in handling spacecrafts. Following the destruction of the Mandalorian’s Razor Crest, she undertakes the task of reassembling an old Naboo N1 Starfighter, which the Mandalorian admires for its speed and maneuverability. Peli develops a fondness for the child Grogu and provides care for him whenever the Mandalorian requires it. During a critical moment, Din Djarin eliminates the rookie bounty hunter Toro Calican, who had previously shot Fennec Shand and held Grogu hostage at Peli Motto’s hangar. Additionally, the Mandalorian frequently visits Peli Motto’s hangar for maintenance of his Razor Crest. In the third season of the show, the Mandalorian pays a visit to Peli Motto in order to procure spare parts for his IG-11 droid. However, he ultimately decides to purchase her astromech droid, R2D5, for the purpose of exploring the planet of Mandalore.

Bo-Katan Kryze is a highly significant character in the Mandalorian series, portrayed by Katee Sackhoff. Her role expands significantly in the third season, as she collaborates with the Mandalorian to reunite the remaining members of the Mandalorian creed and reclaim Mandalore. Following her loss of the dark saber to the Mandalorian, Bo-Katan Kryze had lost all hope, but Din Djarin offers to investigate whether the surface of Mandalore still supports life. However, he encounters a droid that could have killed him if not for Bo-Katan Kryze’s intervention. They become strong allies and fight together against Moff Gideon and his team, who have been secretly mining beskar on the planet Mandalore.

Bo-Katan Kryze is the last of her line, and her ancestors once ruled Mandalore. After saving the Mandalorian’s life, she rightfully owns the dark saber. Bo-Katan Kryze first meets Din Djarin on the estuary moon of Trask, accompanied by Koska Reeves and Axe Wooves of the Kryze clan. Together, they rescue the Mandalorian and the child Grogu. The Mandalorian respects her and helps her find a new purpose after she had lost all hope of ruling Mandalore again.

Bo-Katan Kryze is also the first character in the series to spot the mythosaur inside the living waters under the mines of Mandalore, a secret she only shares with the armorer. Her assistance to Paz Vizla’s son in the third season earns her the respect and support of his Mandalorian group, which later helps her unite all the remaining Mandalorians to revive Mandalore.

Moff Gideon The role of a powerful and formidable villain in the Mandalorian named Moff Gideon is played by Giancarlo Esposito

Giancarlo Esposito portrays the primary antagonist, Moff Gideon, in the Mandalorian. He is the mastermind behind the heinous and inhumane experiments, and intends to use Grogu, a Force sensitive child, as a donor. Gideon, a former ISB officer, now leads an imperial remnant and employs bounty hunters to acquire Grogu. However, after Din Djarin develops an emotional attachment to the child and reclaims it from the imperial client, Gideon emerges from the shadows to take matters into his own hands.

Moff Gideon also participated in the Great Purge, which enabled him to acquire the dark saber. However, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin later took it from him. Although Gideon once succeeded in abducting Grogu, the Mandalorian defeated him and rescued the child and the dark saber.

Clan Kryze seized Gideon’s ship, and he was apprehended and brought before the New Republic Tribunal for sentencing. Nevertheless, his followers freed him from a prison ship, and he returned in the third season. Gideon has amassed his forces and is mining Beskar on Mandalore. Din Djarin discovers their presence on the planet, which he finds inhabitable. However, the Mandalorians, now united under one banner, defeat Moff Gideon once again forcing him to flee from there.

Kuiil the Ugnaught

Kuiil is a Ugnaught and a vapor farmer living on Arvala-7

Kuiil is a prominent character in the Mandalorian, an Ugnaught who serves as a trusted friend and ally to Din Djarin. When the Mandalorian journeys to Arvala-7 in pursuit of the bounty on the child Grogu, he is attacked by Blurrgs and rescued by Kuiil. The planet is home to a large group of Niktos, and Kuiil seeks to liberate his homeland from their oppressive presence. Recognizing the Mandalorian’s potential to aid him in this endeavor, Kuiil guides him to the location of the bounty, which is guarded by the Niktos.

Later in the series, the Mandalorian enlists Kuiil’s assistance in caring for Grogu, and the Ugnaught reprograms the bounty hunter droid IG-11 to serve as a nurse droid for the child. Tragically, Kuiil sacrifices his life to protect Grogu from the remnants of the Empire. In the third season, the Mandalorian encounters other Ugnaughts and establishes a rapport with them, having gained familiarity with their language and way of life. Kuiil himself had previously worked for the Empire before achieving his freedom and settling on Arvala-7, where he maintained a moisture farm. When he meets the Mandalorian, he recognizes the bounty hunter’s potential to help him rid his planet of criminal elements and guides him to the location of the asset.

During their time on Arvala-7, the Mandalorian’s ship, the Razor Crest, is left unguarded and is subsequently stripped of its parts by Jawas. Kuiil mediates a deal with the Jawas to retrieve the stolen components and assists in repairing the ship, enabling the Mandalorian to leave the planet with Grogu.

IG-11 - The Bounty Hunter (Assassin) Droid

IG-11 is a character that stands out from the rest in the series, yet remains a highly intriguing and significant figure. As a bounty hunter droid, it is programmed to carry out lethal actions. With the assistance of this droid on Arvala-7, the Mandalorian successfully eliminates all the Nikto criminals who were guarding the asset. However, the droid has been instructed by its masters to terminate the asset, and when it attempts to do so, Din Djarin terminates it with a shot to the head. Din Djarin then takes the asset and departs.

Later, Ugnaught Kuiil, who resided on Arvala-7, discovers the droid and brings it back to his moisture farm, where he repairs and reprograms it. Kuiil reprograms the droid to serve as a nurse droid, whose primary function is to provide protection. In a later episode, the Mandalorian enlists the aid of Ugnaught Kuiil to care for the child Grogu. They travel to Nevarro, and Kuiil brings IG-11 along with him. IG-11 is highly skilled in combat and assists the Mandalorian in safeguarding the child from Moff Gideon.

Additionally, the droid aids the Mandalorian, Cara Dune, and Geef Karga in escaping from the safehouse where they were trapped. The droid self-destructs while traversing the lava river, eliminating several stormtroopers who were waiting for the Mandalorian and his companions. In season three, Din Djarin endeavors to revive the droid, but is unsuccessful. Despite his general aversion to working with droids, Din Djarin held a fondness for and placed his trust in IG-11, desiring its presence during his survey of the surface of Mandalore.
