Emily Blunt plays Lily Houghton in The Jungle Cruise

The adventure drama is set in the jungles of Amazon and follows the hunt for a life-giving orchid. The tree called Tears of the moon bears a special flower that can heal aging and cure more diseases. It can also break any curse. Lily Houghton (Emily Blunt) travels to the jungles of Amazon so she can find the flower and make the serum. However, she is being pursued by Prince Joachim (Jesse Plemons) and his accomplices. The prince also wants to have the flower and seeks help from three cursed beings who had earlier tried to find the flower. One of them was a medieval king who wanted he flower to cure his ill daughter.

The crusaders come across a tribe that guards the tree and has a arrowhead without which it is not possible to acquire the flower. The tribesmen nurse the crusaders who grow too greedy and try to take away the arrowhead by killing the leader of tribe and the rest people. However, the tribe leader manages to curse them for their misdeed and the three are captured by the jungle.

Only Frank of them has remained alive and in human form. The rest three have taken different forms and remained only partial human. Prince Joachim awakens them from their curse by bringing to them the water of Amazon. He seeks their help in acquiring the arrowhead and the flower.

Frank has remained alive for centuries because of the curse. When the three cursed demons awaken and hunt Lily’s team, Frank is hurt and they put a sword through his chest. Lily believes that Frank is dead but is shocked to see him alive later. Frank tells her about the curse and that he is one of the cursed. Frank has seen several generations while living in the Amazon forests. He has built a village and seen it develop. Now, he is a tour guide who owns a boat named The La Quila.

He takes Lily to an old temple that is submerged in water from where Lily can find her way to the tree. Once having found the tree, Lily is able to get one flower from it. She instead of keeping it later uses it to lift Frank’s curse. Prince Joachim dies in the meanwhile trying to gain possession of the flower as a large rock crushes him.

Frank sells his business upon returning from the crusade and decides to move ahead with Lily who finds one more flower from the tree. The movie is interesting and filled with lots of action and adventure.
